Musician Bios
Jaclyn Smith, Violin:
Jaclyn has been playing for over 20 years. She has served as principal violin for the CSU Symphony and Chamber Orchestras as well as the Longmont Symphony. Jaclyn teaches private violin and viola lessons in Loveland.
Julie Swanty, Violin:
Julie has a degree in Music Education from Colorado State University and has been playing the violin for over 15 years. She currently plays with the Longmont Symphony and is a substitute for the Fort Collins Symphony, Cheyenne Symphony and Health and Wellness Orchestra. She played in the Colorado Springs Chamber Orchestra and CSU Symphony and Chamber Orchestra. Julie has been part of chamber groups for six years and has had many opportunities to play for various events around the state. Julie is the music teacher at Werner Elementary School in Fort Collins.
Cheryl Hite, Viola: Cheryl performs with many chamber groups, orchestras and quartets in the Northern Colorado area including the Loveland Holiday Orchestra and Health and Wellness Orchestra. She has been playing viola since she was a young child.
Vicki Cotton, Cello:
A graduate of Colorado State University in cello performance, Vicki has been playing for over 15 years. She currently plays with the Longmont Symphony and is principal cellist for the Health and Wellness Orchestra and Loveland Holiday Orchestra. She has played with the Fort Collins Symphony, Cheyenne Symphony, Greeley Philharmonic, Longmont Symphony, Wyoming Symphony and was principal cellist with the CSU Symphony and Chamber Orchestras. She has also played with many quartets and chamber groups in the Front Range.
Lois Owsley, Viola:
Lois has a BA in Violin Performance from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado and an MA in Music Education from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana. She is concert-master with the Poudre Valley Hospital Health and Wellness Orchestra. Lois is the conductor of the Overture Strings group with Youth Orchestra of the Rockies.
Lois has played in symphony orchestras and other musical events as well as taught hundreds of students on stringed instruments and piano in her home based Personal Notes Music Studio in Louisiana (Lake Charles, Alexandria, Natchitoches), Bountiful, Utah, California (Escondido, Poway, San Marcos, Monterey, Sunnyvale, San Jose, Lakewood) and now Fort Collins, Colorado.
Keisha Davis, Violin: Keisha is new to Fort Collins. She is a music therapist and plays with the Health and Wellness Orchestra through Poudre Valley Hospital.
